After making compelte circle of store, subject picked up candy eggs and concealed them in right pants pockets while walking down aisle 13. Subject then pushed cart past checkout into the foyer. It contained chips, buns, apples, milk… These items had not been paid for. After looking around about 30 seconds, subject pushed cart out of store.
Is it bold or is it ugly. My intial reaction to it can be summed up as “huh”? This must be one of those buildings that is supposed to envoke strong emotion from the people.

The craziest thing is this is actually getting built. Here everyone was talking about stadium this and that, while this “unique architectual addition” was being designed.

To prepare for this threat, the Kentucky Office of Homeland Security is developing two earthquake exercises in 2006. One exercise will cover Morehead in the east – the same area as the 1812 quake. The other will be held in the New Madrid Fault Area to the west. Both events will test Kentucky’s emergency responders and communities, emergency communications, school evaluation plans and private sector infrastructure restoration, as well as public health, hospital and environmental support.

In a really sad state of affairs. It has taken several recent mine disasters for the Kentucky Government to wake up and start to look seriously at mine safety. Why does it always take tragedy to enact common sense from the government

via kentucky.gov

FRANKFORT, Ky. (Jan. 24, 2006) – A Pike County mine was ordered closed today after a state Office of Mine Safety and Licensing (OMSL) inspector observed a roof area totally unsupported.

Hard Core Mining, Fords Branch, Ky., was ordered closed when the mine inspector observed an entire cross cut (20’ x 20’) that had the roof bolt heads cut off or sheared, leaving the roof area unsupported.

Closure orders were immediately issued and seven miners were ordered out of the mine.

The closed area is the only intake/haul road entry in this area of the mine. All employees were required to exit the mine along the beltline, which has roof supports in place. Tire marks indicated that mobile equipment had been taken through the unsupported section of the mine.

Bluegrass Politics: opinion by mark nickolas
The odd disappearance of Lt. Gov. Steve Pence

“In any moment of decision, the best thing you can do is the right thing. The worst thing you can do is nothing.” —Lt. Gov. Steve Pence, in his inauguration speech

From the moment Steve Pence agreed to be Ernie Fletcher’s running
mate, the public has been constantly reminded that Pence is the
corruption-fighting U.S. Attorney of BOPTROT fame. In one memorable
sound bite from Pence himself, the future lieutenant governor sneered
at Gov. Paul Patton’s decision to pardon some of his political cronies
before trial.

“Things like that are not going to happen in a Fletcher-Pence administration,” he vowed.
