Louisville Railway Car

the louisville car

Here is a streetcar in San Francisco that is painted to honor Louisville, Kentucky.  If only Louisville had its own streetcars.  And not just trolleys

Tarc Trolley

Of course if you want a real trolley.  Goto Ollie’s Trolley on Third St.  In Downtown Louisville.  They have the best Hamburgers/Fries anywhere.

Blue Cheeseburger Recipe

Who doesnt enjoy a good cheeseburger? Now you may not know this but there are many different way’s to prepare a cheeseburger. Here is a great recipe that I found on cooks recipes.com

I would substitute the kaiser rolls for a good old fashioned hamburger bun. Other than that this sounds great!

The easy-to-make blue cheese sauce goes well with grilled steaks, too!

2 tablespoon plain yogurt
2 tablespoons crumbled blue cheese
1 tablespoon mayonnaise or salad dressing
1 teaspoon Dijon-style mustard
1 1/2 pounds lean ground beef
3 green onion, thinly sliced
1/4 cup chopped green bell pepper
Salt and freshly ground pepper to taste
6 kaiser rolls, split

1. For sauce, in a small bowl stir together yogurt, blue cheese, mayonnaise or salad dressing, and mustard. Cover and chill until serving time.
2. Crumble ground beef into a large bowl. Add green onions, bell pepper, salt and pepper; mix well. Shape mixture into six 3/4-inch-thick patties.
3. Grill patties on an uncovered grill directly over medium coals for 14 to 18 minutes or until meat in no longer pink, turning once.
4. To serve, toast cut sides of kaiser rolls on the grill. Serve patties in toasted rolls Top patties with sauce.

Makes 6 servings.

Division over the First Cheeseburger

There is some debate over at Wikipedia concerning the origin of the first cheeseburger. In a earlier post I spoke about the dispute of the first cheeseburger. And the two cents from wikipedia is this

“The entry for Hamburger claims that the first cheeseburger was made in Pasadena, California. So what’s the real scoop? Bunthorne 06:33, 12 September 2005 (UTC)”

I still believe the first cheeseburger was made in good old louisville.
