Frankfort Around Kentucky
Looks like the state still has some money left in the coffers
State to give $150,000 for riverfront-development study
The state will provide up to $150,000 to help the Frankfort/Franklin County Tourist and Convention Commission to conduct a riverfront-development study of the Frankfort area. Gov. Steve Beshear pledged the money from the Land Acquisition Account, which is managed by the Finance and Administration Cabinet and has been used in the last 10 years to purchase several riverfront parcels in the Frankfort area. The study area will include land along the Kentucky River as it runs through the capital city, from the Julian Carroll Bridge to the Buffalo Trace Distillery. It is the first step in a plan to make the river the centerpiece for revitalizing Frankfort.
