DRIVER INDICTED IN GIRLFRIEND’S DEATH
A Scott County grand jury has indicted a man in the death of his girlfriend in a car accident. The grand jury charged Gary Cooper III, 25, with second-degree manslaughter. Amber Rachford, 27, of Lexington was a passenger in Cooper’s vehicle, which went off the road April 21. The couple reportedly were driving home from a Cincinnati Reds game when the crash occurred on Interstate 75 near mile marker 24. If convicted, Cooper could face five to 10 years in prison.
I Say
This article doesn’t say anything about the condition of the driver. Was he drinking? What made him be at fault? That is the slippery slope. Should we all not drive passengers for fear of indictment? I hope there is more to this story.

if you’ll check out this article, he was DUI and speeding. sounds like enough criminal activity for indictment to me.
