Only in Kentucky : Log a forest to save it?

WKYT 27 NEWSFIRST & WYMT Mountain News – Service proposes research involving logging in the Daniel Boone

According to this article the Forest Service wants to save trees by cutting them down. They want to cut down over 600 acres to see if if will help the health of the forest. There is already a large debate in environmental circles on this subject. I dont know if you agree or not. I personally thinks its a load of BS.

I think maybe thinning them out some might be okay, but I’m not for just cutting them down and selling them for the heck of it. I think they should cut back some of the small stuff if it’s all growing to closely together so the larger trees can “breathe.”

    Rachel,
I absolutely agree that federal land should not be used for pure profit. Perhaps better land management is the key. However, the government is there to serve us and all too often they seem to server themselves. Thanks for the comment!
