Kentucky Football through the years
I have done some research into the curiosity of Kentucky Football. According to the ukathletics website
The last time that Kentucky lost only 1 game was 1977. That was the end of a severe drought before 77 they had not lost only 1 game since 1950. Now they may have had the occasionally winning season. But not really a kick butt season. In fact, the one and only time that I found UK to have a undefeated season was way back in 1898. And that season they really rocked. There was not a single team that scored against them that year. They finished the season scoring 180 pts to 0
1977-Won 10, Lost 1
1950-Won 11, Lost 1
1929-Won 6, Lost 1, Tied 1
1918-Won 2, Lost 1
1916-Won 4, Lost 1, Tied 2
1915-Won 6, Lost 1, Tied 1
1909-Won 9, Lost 1
1907-Won 9, Lost 1, Tied 1
1904-Won 9, Lost 1
1903-Won 7, Lost 1
1898-Won 7, Lost 0
1891-Won 1, Lost 1
1881-Won 1, Lost 2
What is my point you ask? Well I just think that while UK fans remain discouraged about their teams dismal year in and year failures. This provides some perspective for the program. Why should we really expect them to do good since they never have before.
