Should Kentucky’s Teachers strike? Well lets ignore the fact that a strike is illegal and get to some facts. The first point is yes their Health Care Contributions are going up. If you are a single person there is no worries you pay practically nothing. However, if you are a couple or family under the new government plan then you will be paying a minimum of $300 a month for health care coverage. This may not seem excessive until you get to the real “meat” of the plan. Which is the switch from a co-pay option to a co-insurance option. Basically, this means that if you go to the doctor and have a $1000 bill you are liable for 20% after the deductible is paid. This could get expensive very quickly.
